Melissa Vincent
Melissa Vincent’s first experience of being a part of a supportive community started in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she grew up surrounded by the Amish culture and witnessed countless examples of neighbors providing support and help to anyone that needed it.
After starting her career in Pennsylvania, she moved to Oklahoma City. Melissa got her first taste of being in the start-up world, working at a company that provided employee background screenings.
Before leaping into entrepreneurship, she worked her way up to Vice President of Business Development there.
In the fall of 2009, she became a partner in ur mobile and founded 9Tribe in the summer of 2013.
During that time, she was also Locked In Sports's co-founder and board president. Locked In Sport’s goal was to address the gap between children with access to personal trainers and top-level coaches at elite schools and students who don’t.
In January 2020, Melissa transitioned to Kansas City to become the Executive Director of Pipeline Entrepreneurial Fellowship, an elite organization of the Midwest’s most successful, high-performance entrepreneurs paired with a national - and global- a network of advisors, mentors, and more.
Their entrepreneurs work as one to face business challenges, funnel opportunities to their peers and build market-leading technology and life-sciences businesses together.
Approximately 10-12 new entrepreneurs are invited to join Pipeline as Fellows each year. After an extensive selection process, new Fellows participate in a unique and rigorous year-long business leadership development program that blends workshop modules and advice from national experts and deepens relationships among new and current Pipeline Members.
In 2022, Melissa led Pipeline in creating a second program, Pipeline Pathfinder.
Pathfinder is an 18-month program exclusively for underserved entrepreneurs who identify as women or people of color or are leading a business in a rural community.
Pathfinder aims to provide the knowledge, support, resources, and access to a network needed to scale a high-growth business and ultimately join the Pipeline Fellowship.
Melissa is passionate about giving back to her community and sits on several non-profit boards, including Play Like a Girl!® and Tenaciously Teal.
While in OKC, she was recognized as one of Oklahoma City’s Forty Under 40 for her impact on the community and was nominated for Woman of the Year.
I know she will continue to impact KC and remain committed to helping entrepreneurs all over the Midwest succeed while leveling the playing field.
