ShareWaves Foundation

ShareWaves Foundation is a 501c3 whose mission is to advance the opportunity for every child to experience the life-enriching "power of sports."

Founded by Bill Brandmeyer over four years ago, ShareWaves focuses on children deprived of equitable physical activity, exercise, and high-quality sports experiences in under-resourced communities.

They continue to work on removing the multi-faceted barriers to sports access and engagement that require innovative, collaborative, cross-sector solutions.

This year, they announced the creation of our Power of Sports - GameChanging Grants to help kids access high-quality sports experiences. This program distributes funds to kids who need financial support to participate in sports.

SharWaves Ready2Play initiative helps parents and coaches keep their kids physically, socially, and emotionally engaged while living separately from their normal extra-curricular activities. They are developing a web application called #Ready2Play@Home Training Camp (#R2P@Home) to deliver exercise content to kids who need it most.

"Movement is the Medicine" is another 2022 campaign that links physical activity, exercise, and sports participation to adolescent well-being, mental health improvement, and suicide prevention.

ShareWaves has mental health awareness events planned throughout the year to draw attention to movement as an essential component of healthy, positive mental wellness and help reduce the stigma of seeking help.

ShareWaves works tirelessly to bridge the gap between "the haves" and the "have-nots.”

They believe that without access to sports and structured play, kids miss critical benefits, including physical health, social-emotional growth, and academic development.

At the end of the day, their main goal is to help kids play the games they love.

Do not hesitate to contact Bill directly if you want to get more involved in SharWaves, volunteer, or donate.
