Matthew Moore

I am thrilled that Matthew Moore did not listen to his family when they said not to enter the restaurant business.

Growing up, he worked in his family's restaurants and saw the challenges. However, I am glad he followed his passion and brought many amazing businesses into the Kansas City community.

During High School and College, Matt owned his own landscaping company, which helped him pay his way through the University of Missouri- Kansas City. He then ran that business for several years after college.

After Matt and his business partner Chance Adams met a fellow sailor who did homebrewing, they decided to give it a shot.

Their homebrewing side hustle started in 2008; Matt bought a building in 2010 to have an HQ for his landscaping business; instead, they used it to expand their brewing business, but that building was too small for the operations, so it became the Martin City Pub.

Martin City Brewing Company was officially launched in 2014 because, like many other craft beer drinkers in Kansas City, Matt was thirsty for something new. He wanted a beer that was bigger, bolder, and preferably local. Martin City Brewery is Kansas City’s largest LOCAL brewing company.

Today, Martin City Brewing Company has seven locations: four Pizza & Taprooms, their Coast to Coast Pub in Martin City, and Station 7 Pizza & Taproom in Lee Summit. They also serve their beer and food in MCI’s new terminal that opened this year.

Their full-blown brewing operation, with canning and distribution throughout the KC metro, is located across from the original building in Martin City. They will continue to release bigger, bolder local beers for the community of craft beer drinkers in Kansas City and beyond. They value service to their clients as its number one priority.  This focus on service starts in their restaurants and expands to our beers being distributed into a broader market.

Matt is a serial entrepreneur, so he has also started other businesses, including Love Coffee in Lee Summit, All the Love Roasting Co. in Martin City, Federal Printing CO, and Martin City Ice Cream CO.

Given Matt and his business partners' impact on the KC community to date, I am excited to watch and support what he builds next.

You can visit the Martin City Brewing Company website to learn more about his other businesses.
