Community Services League
With more than a century of service, Community Services League has made meaningful and lasting changes in the lives of the neighbors living in Eastern Jackson County and beyond. They do it by providing help today for those struggling to make ends meet.
Through those relationships, they offer hope for tomorrow while connecting with coaches who care and resources to build financial stability and self-sufficiency.
Each year, they provide integrated, life-changing services to nearly 20,000 individuals and connect thousands more to temporary assistance to get through tough economic times. It’s a mission built on Bess Truman’s legacy of caring for neighbors in need. A mission that continues with a passion that is as strong as ever.
That mission is to partner with their neighbors by collaborating on strategies that foster community stability and individual well-being.
Through that mission, they envision communities where everyone has equitable voices and choices to meet their basic needs and the resources to pursue their brightest future.
Community Services League is built on its seven pillars of stability: Housing, Financial, Employment, Transportation, Technology, Education, and Wellness.
When people come to Community Services League for help today, relationships are built that provide a foundation of hope for tomorrow. Neighbors gain confidence daily and see life’s opportunities in a new light. Families take steps together to make positive changes in their lives.
And the stories are inspiring. Neighbors are moving from homelessness to home ownership, launching new careers, building financial stability free of government assistance, paying off toxic payday loans, and teaching their children how to save and invest. Helping entire neighborhoods not just survive but thrive.
