Gina Lichte

While Gina Lichte might be a Kansas City transplant like myself, her love for this city and passion for being a positive force in the community is second to none.

When we spoke recently, a few things were evident. First, she has an incredible work ethic, a focus on helping others, and an infectious attitude. The impact she has had on the girls she helps will be felt for years to come, and we are fortunate that a person this generous is here in KC.

If you are not familiar with Gina, she is the President/CEO of Girls on the Run of Greater Kansas City (GOTRKC). Their mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experienced-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. They work hard to inspire ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Their trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional, and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life. GOTRKC serves thousands of girls in and around the KC area, ages 8-13 years old, and is in over 170 schools around the metro. The program is broken into two different age groups. One is for girls from 3rd to 5th grade, and the other is for girls in 6th through 8th grade.

Do not miss GOTRKC’s 5K at Swope Park on May 21st, 2022.

If you want to volunteer or sign up as a coach, visit their website.

On top of running GOTRKC, Gina is also on the board of directors for the KC Chamber representing Centurions, Apex. She will graduate from the Centurions Leadership Program in June of 2022.

With Gina’s passion for helping the community, I cannot wait to watch her continue impacting girls’ lives all over the city!
