First Act Theatre Arts

Led by Interim Executive Director Ellen Breth, First Act Theatre Art’s mission is to inspire excellence, foster character, and build community through theatrical arts training, performance, and fellowship in a Christian faith-based environment.

Through this, they have set out to become the outstanding theatrical arts studio in the Kansas City area that prepares students not only for the first act in a production but also to be the first to act in love and kindness. In addition, their goals are to inspire growth in students through quality educational programming and performance opportunities in the theatrical arts as we prepare families for the First Act, on and off the stage.

First Act Theatre Arts have set forth the following values as it seeks to celebrate and cultivate the unique talents of individuals through educational programs and family-friendly performance opportunities: Excellence, Community, Education, and Love & Respect.

Their 2022-2023 season includes eight inspiring and well-loved stories. Featuring the talents of students ages 8-18, these are shows you won’t want to miss. This spring season includes Peter and the Starcatcher, Tuck Everlasting, and Cinderella.

First Act Theatre Arts is more than just a name. It represents the first act of children and families joining a community where they make new friends, discover new talents through excellent education, and reap the benefits of caring mentorship in their theatrical arts journey. With over twenty years of experience in training students, First Act Theatre Arts has hundreds of graduates fulfilling their career path dreams.

Some are performers on Broadway; others travel in touring companies at home and abroad; others use their training to excel in their chosen career paths. Their alums continue to change the world due to solid character and leadership skills developed through their First Act KC training.
