Trevor Lewis

Work ethic and drive can come from all types of places. Some are from people doubting us, others from seeing a parent grind to ensure their children have everything they need no matter the situation. Today’s feature, Trevor Lewis, is the latter.

Trevor grew up in a single-parent home, with his mom doing all she could to provide for him. This early lesson in work ethic is a driving force in Trevor’s success today. Even at a young age, he took on odd jobs to help, whether working as a farmhand, cooking pizza, or even starting a power-washing business when he was 17.

Trevor graduated from Avila University in 2012 with a degree in Psychology and was a part of the football team. After graduating, Trevor joined Skyline E3, working in business development and sales.

In 2017 an opportunity presented itself that would change the trajectory of Trevor’s career. Trevor joined Instore Design Display (IDD) to lead sales, but the owner and CEO, Randy Edge, had bigger plans, finding a successor to his business.

Instore Design Display is a nationally recognized custom retail display and environment solution provider. IDD is a team of napkin sketch decoders, designers, builders, graphic artists, production gurus, and fulfillment and storage experts focused on helping CPG brands, retailers, and marketing agencies create custom experiences for shoppers. IDD works with brands such as Hanes, Husqvarna, Golf Pride, Bayer, and T-Mobile.

In January of this year, Trevor was promoted to Chief Revenue Officer and became a minority owner in IDD. He and Randy have built together a succession plan over the next 5-10 years where Trevor will continue to take on more ownership responsibilities and a larger stake in IDD, as well as Randy being there to mentor Trevor. The big vision is to set up IDD to continue growing for the next 100 years.

Outside IDD, Trevor is active in Top Gun, LIFT KC, and the Avila University Alumni Association. Additionally, Trevor was recently named to Ingrams Magazine’s 40 Under 40.

With the succession plan in place, I know that IDD and Trevor will continue to thrive, and I look forward to supporting Trevor along his journey. His enthusiasm, work ethic, curiosity, and focus on building the right culture are just a few reasons he will continue to be a force in KC.
