Kilee Nickels could not find her favorite statement earrings in gold, so she designed her own out of leather.

Nickel & Suede were born soon after. What started as a side project in 2014 in Kilee’s basement workshop has evolved into a national brand with three retail locations, a design office, and a production facility here in KC. Nickel and Suede have retail shops on the Country Club Plaza, Dallas, TX, and their HQ is in Liberty, MO.

Their statement teardrop earnings have sparked a movement and introduced innovation to the accessories market- lightweight statement earnings that leveraged the versatility, durability, and feather-light weight of premium Italian leather. Nickel & Suede has continued to innovate and offer stud earrings, hoop earrings, leather cuffs, necklaces, and rings.

Nickel & Suede has recently been partnering with area businesses to do pop-up retail events; for example, they were in downtown Overland Park for their Christmas in July celebration on 7/17.

In August, they will be at Brew Haha Coffeehouse for a sidewalk-themed event on 8/6 and 8/20. In addition, House of Color consultants will be at the Liberty HQ location introducing guests to what it means to have a color palette that works best with their skin tones.
