Marc Shaffer
Marc Shaffer, CFP®, AIF®, EA, has traveled to and hiked in some of the most exotic locations in the world, including Chile, Argentina, Tibet, Peru, Iceland, Bhutan, and Namibia.
He has brought that same energy, commitment, and work ethic to his clients as an owner and CFO at Searcy Financial Services, Inc.
Marc grew up in Topeka, KS, and then headed off to Kansas State University in the fall of 2001.
Upon graduating, he joined a wealth management company but quickly found the company he would call home for the next 16-plus years.
Since April 2006, Marc has worked at Searcy Financial. In his role with Searcy, Marc is responsible for the ongoing management of the firm, existing client relationships, and client satisfaction.
Searcy focuses on helping their clients plan for the future, investment management, working on employer-sponsored retirement plans, and business/practice consulting. One thing that sets them apart is they do not assume they know what success looks like to their clients. Instead, they take the time to understand the needs and goals of each client they work with.
In 2010, Marc and his team recognized that there was a need in the industry to serve clients who might not meet other firms’ minimum investment requirements. Then, they created Allos Investment Advisors®, LLC, a subsidiary firm providing fee-only, discretionary proactive investment management services with no account minimums. Marc’s role within the company is to serve as CFO, and his mission is to connect people and resources for the betterment of all.
Marc is very active in the community and is one of the most philanthropic people I have had the chance to get to know. He sits on the board for Growing Futures Early Education Center, is a member and past present of Overland Park South Rotary Club, and is also a member of the steering committee for the Wabash CannonBall gala, which raises money for area high school students planning on attending K-State.
Marc was also part of the inaugural class of Rockstars for the Band of Angels Art that Blows event and BVIPs to benefit the BLUE VALLEY EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION.
Marc has been recognized many times for the incredible work he has done, including being named to The Independent’s 2019 Class of Rising Stars, a 2021 NextGen Leader by the Kansas City Business Journal and was chosen as a member of the 2021 Class of Forty under 40 by Ingram's Magazine. Nationally, he was selected as a member of the 2018 InvestmentNews 40 under 40 class.
He was also a graduate of the Centurions Leadership Program in 2019.
Marc’s worth ethic, commitment to the community, and leadership are just a few reasons he will be a force in KC for years to come. I look forward to continuing to support and watch his journey unfold.
