Katie Lord

Finding someone more dedicated to the non-profit sector than Katie Lord is hard.

She spent the early part of her career working for some of the largest non-profit organizations, including the American Cancer Society, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas.

She specialized in fundraising, development, board recruitment, and donor-centric marketing for them before shifting to a non-profit consulting agency here in KC. While there, Katie helped her clients raise millions of dollars, expand relationships with their donors, and implement best practices for her client partners.

Today, Katie serves as Vice President of Nonprofit Development at Proof Positioning.

In her role, she is able to take a new and innovative method to help the nonprofit sector’s approach to fundraising and marketing. All non-profits understand their “Why” and their mission, but Katie and Proof can help them know their donors, volunteers, and clients’ “why.”
Proof does this with emotional research and by asking the burning questions, it takes to fully understand why people are drawn to your organization.

Proof works with an organization’s prospects, donors, volunteers, and constituents. Through their unique approach, they can help build stronger, more lasting relationships through Emotional Data and Segmentation.

Katie also speaks and is a trainer in the nonprofit sector for organizations nationwide. Those organizations include Giving Institute, DonorPerfect Conference, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Kansas City Direct Marketing Association.

With her philanthropic involvement in KC, Katie’s dedication to the community is fully displayed. She sits on several boards and is involved in many organizations, including United WE, Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas, Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, and Jackson County CASA.

She was also a 2017 Most Wanted Honoree by Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City, a Junior League of KC award winner, and a Centurions Leadership Program graduate in 2020.

Katie’s leadership, passion, and advocacy will impact non-profits for years to come. I look forward to continuing to watch her journey and supporting her.
