Bliss Books & Wine Part 2

While some avid followers of this series might recognize Bliss Books & Wine from an earlier post, I felt it was important to share a huge milestone that La’Nesha Frazier and La'Nae Robinson just had.

Bliss Books & Wine officially had its Grand Opening for its brick-and-mortar store this past Saturday at 3502 Gillham RD in KCMO!

La’Nesha Frazier and La'Nae Robinson founded Bliss Books & wine in 2019 with a mission to provide an environment and perfect atmosphere to indulge in fantastic wine, get lost in a great book, or engage in conversation with friends. In addition, they aim to promote the reading culture by encouraging curious readers, endorsing local arts, and connecting great pastimes of social drinking and introverted reading. It is designed to build a community gathering place and to create experiences by bridging the gap between books and wine. 

Unfortunately, COVID forced them to take their business virtually. As they continued to grow virtually, they were also focused on opening a physical location. Still, a city ordinance stood in their way, but that would not stop La’Nesha and La’Nae! In the summer of 2022, they worked with the city council to change the ordinance, and construction started shortly after on their new bookstore. 

Based on the turnout from Saturday’s Grand Opening, it is safe to say that the community is behind its mission, and Bliss Books & Wine is a fantastic addition to Kansas City.

Bliss Books & Wine caught the attention of KC and the nation as they have been featured in Startland News, on 41 Action News KSHB, IN Kansas City Magazine, NPR, Voyage KC, O, The Oprah Magazine, and many more.

The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce awarded Bliss Books & Wine the 2022 Emerging Business award.
