Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri

With its mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place, Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri supports 15,000 Girl Scouts (Kindergarten – 12th grade) and 9,000 adult volunteers in its 47-county footprint.

Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Girl Scouts is where girls of all backgrounds and abilities grow their confidence as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges.

Through STEAM & Trades, Entrepreneurship, Civic Engagement, Arts, Healthy Living, and Outdoor Experiences programs, Girl Scouts can try new experiences, build skills that last a lifetime, and find their voices to make changes that affect the issues most important to them. Girl Scouts is backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums.

Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri is one of the 112 local councils across the United States and is the 16th largest of all these councils. There are 2.5 million girl and adult Girl Scout members worldwide. In March, Girl Scouts celebrate 112 years strong.

Girl Scouts trailblazing founder Juliette Gordon Low organized the first Girl Scout troop on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia. Juliette knew that girls needed a place to try new things, build their confidence, and grow into our world’s leaders. Her visionary legacy continues to drive Girl Scouts into the future to meet the ever-changing needs of girls.

Juliette Gordon Low is about to make her mark on American currency. That's right, Juliette Gordon Low, the unstoppable founder of Girl Scouts, has been selected to appear on the American Women Quarters™ in 2025.

Girl Scouts is also the place where friendships of a lifetime are made. Forever friendship is a powerful thing. It’s what gives Girl Scouts the confidence to be themselves unapologetically. It makes them feel safe enough to try new things and cheer each other on in tough times. The support can get them up on tough mornings, help them raise their hand in class, and even climb to the top of a mountain.

And, of course, those once-a-year sweet treats are still available to purchase. Girl Scout Cookie season is here, and girls across Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri are set to sell just over 1.8 million packages of cookies.

Girl Scout Cookies fund the fun and help girls build skills like goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.
