Wonderscope
The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children's Museum of Kansas City's mission is to spark a lifelong love of learning through the universal and uniting power of play.
Led by Executive Director Roxane Hill, Wonderscope is the KC region’s only accessible, non-profit children’s museum dedicated to providing STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math – educational experiences for young children and their families.
Wonderscope features 30,000 square feet of indoor exploration and a 1/2 acre of year-round outdoor adventure, all with a unique Kansas City theme. Its overall vision is to be an educational resource in our community, allowing all children and families to build a solid foundation for success in school and beyond.
Wonderscope offers various fun and educational programs for children and their families. Those programs include Circle Time on Tuesdays, Music & Movement on Wednesdays, Art Time on Thursdays, Storytime + Craft on Fridays, Maker Space Workshops, Engineering Creativity, and Sensational Play.
Wonderscope also has a Kindergarten Readiness Program. Wonderscope’s Road to Readiness is a program designed to help children ages 4-6 assess skills in critical developmental areas and allow families to experience Wonderscope exhibits in exciting new ways. Best of all, it’s free with museum admission or membership!
The self-guided program includes a workbook filled with museum adventures for your family to complete at whatever pace is comfortable and enjoyable for you and takes about eight weeks to complete.
Wonderscope is located at 433 E Red Bridge Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131 and is open Tuesday-Friday, 9 am-4:30 PM, Saturday, 9 am-5 pm, and Sunday, noon-5 pm.
On April 22nd, Wonderscope will host a Trivia Night to help benefit the museum. Teams of up to 10 people will enjoy complimentary drinks, appetizers, and a fast-paced, competitive evening. Then, in late August, they will have an Eat, Drink, Play event for grownups. Music, open bar, auction, heads or tails, and a wine pull.
