Melissa Windon

Melissa Windon grew up in Memphis, TN, but in 1998 her stepfather’s career with NPC International transferred her family to KC, where she attended Saint Thomas Aquinas High School - Overland Park, KS, and then The University of Kansas.

After KU, she joined the litigation department of a local law practice before moving on to a financial services company, where she oversaw compliance, human resources, and employee benefits.

Her love for the employee benefits and HR side of the business ignited a career change, and in 2016, Melissa joined Truss, now HUB International.

As an Employee Benefits Producer at HUB International, Melissa Windon recognizes that no single approach is suitable for every client; therefore, she offers unique insurance product solutions to reduce costs, personalize benefits for your company, and help recruit and retain talent.

In the spring of 2018, Melissa co-founded Driving Pursuits with one goal: to give women a place to learn golf and network with like-minded women in business.

Driving Pursuits provides female executive members with an exclusive golfing experience. Members learn practical skills and general knowledge of the game in an encouraging, non-threatening, and fun environment.

Driving Pursuits members create new business opportunities and support each other during the golf lessons and during happy hour after each lesson (we love golf, wine, and appetizers!)

Outside of running Driving Pursuits and being a consultant at Hub International, Melissa is a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City and The Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park. She also served on the executive team for Go Red for Women in 2022 and was a Band of Angels Rockstar in 2020.

Melissa’s work with Hub, Driving Pursuits, and the community has enormously impacted KC. However, even with all Melissa has accomplished, I feel she is just getting started. I look forward to supporting her along her journey.
