Kilee Nickels

Kilee Nickels entrepreneurial story is so inspirational to me. She started Nickel & Suede out of her home seven years ago, and today it is a nationally recognized brand with three retail locations. Two of those locations are in KC, and one is in Dallas. The Plaza location and Dallas location just celebrated their first anniversary.

One thing I love about Nickel and Suede is that community is a massive part of their mission. They are so active in the nonprofit space, whether through monetary donations or earrings. On top of that, they also use their retail spaces to host events to help other business owners and nonprofits.

On top of all her community work and Nickel and Suede, she also hosts a podcast called With Kilee Nickels. She shares her entrepreneurial journey and focuses on other women’s inspirational stories.

After all the fantastic things Kilee accomplished here in 2021, including being nominated and winning the Woman Who Mean Business Award from the Kansas City Business Journal, I cannot wait to see what the future holds for her and Nickel and Suede. I know she will continue to do amazing things that help benefit the Kansas City community.
