Emily Blue
Growing up, Emily Blue, CFA's father, spent his career in private wealth management. After witnessing how finance transformed close client relationships into friendships, she knew she also wanted to have the great honor of helping families navigate their financial futures.
Emily attended William Jewell College and received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics, Mathematics, and Applied Critical Thought and Inquiry.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Mathematics. While at William Jewell, she was the co-managing editor of the Jewell Business.
Today, received several awards, and was the first student to conduct an honors mathematical research project in 40 years, which later became part of a published research paper.
Today, Emily is Head of Corporate Development for Caprock , one of the nation’s leading multi-family offices. She is responsible for driving a significant part of the firm’s growth engine by developing and executing Caprock’s advisor recruitment and acquisition strategies.
In an interview with Citywire, she shared that she joined Caprock because of their offering to ultra-high net worth clients.
Before her role at Caprock, she was Director of Corporate Development at Mariner Wealth Advisors, responsible for executing the firm’s strategic initiatives and inorganic growth strategy, with a concentration on acquisitions. While there, she helped the team close 25 wealth advisory acquisitions nationwide.
Before Mariner, she held several roles within the strategic investment group at TortoiseEcofin. She spent time supporting product development, overseeing mergers and acquisition integration, and leading new system implementation efforts across the entire TortoiseEcofin departmental ecosystem.
It is no surprise that Emily is also heavily involved in the community, serving as Chairwoman of the board for GIRL SCOUTS OF NORTHEAST KANSAS AND NORTHWEST MISSOURI, INC, a member of the Community Impact Makers leadership team for Newhouse, and a Top Gun Kansas City board member.
She is also heavily involved with the CFA Society of Kansas City, Collaborative WIM (Women in Investment Management), and was previously a mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Emily is an absolute rising star in Kansas City. I have no doubt she will continue to be a powerhouse in the business community and dedicate time to the philanthropic community.
