Christopher Stibbs

Christopher Stibbs, CFRE goal in life is to change the world.

In his youth, he saw the power of advocacy and impact, leading to his career in the philanthropic world. His passion for the work and mission of Newhouse started well before getting into the working world. He volunteered throughout college as a shelter advocate.

They did not have a full-time position when he graduated from Rockhurst University in 2016. Still, he was able to work for two incredible organizations (Sertoma Inc and Hope Haven of Cass County) before joining Newhouse in the spring of 2019 as Director of Philanthropic Engagement.

Newhouse is more than a domestic violence shelter; they are a catalyst to true healing and where survivors become empowered to achieve their full potential.

With domestic violence being a multi-faceted issue, Newhouse works to meet the unique needs of survivors and reverse the impacts of trauma. They provide a comprehensive ecosystem of whole-person healing resources to confront a myriad of issues. Strategic collaboration and partnerships enable them to respond, shift and shatter the barriers that feed the cycle of domestic violence.

Christopher and the outstanding leadership at Newhouse have done incredible work over the years. A few of those accomplishments are increasing the growth of their annual breakfast and Gala by 40 and 50%, respectively. They have also launched programs such as the Digs Against Domestic Violence Volleyball tournament held each August and a new event in March of 2022, the Worthy Pop-Bar, allowing local KC leaders to guest bartend and raise money for Newhouse.

Last year, Newhouse won several awards from Domesticshelter.org for Most Innovative Service and Outstanding Awareness Campaign.

Outside of Newhouse, Christopher is heavily involved in the community. He sits on The Loop KC leadership team as Philanthropy Co-Chair, is on the board of directors for AFPKC (Association of Fundraising Professionals - Greater Kansas City Chapter), the Emerging Leaders Task Force for AFP Global, and the core planning team for TED Conferences (TEDxKC)

Christopher’s work was recognized last year, and he was named to Ingram's Magazine 20 in their twenties.

Christopher’s passion for uplifting others and providing dedication to the community are just a few reasons he will have a lasting impact on Kansas City.
