Cass Butler Dunlap

Cass Butler Dunlap, Ph.D., started her career in Nebraska running marketing at a few broadcast television stations.

From there, she moved into higher education at Bellevue University. She became the first African American director; she created a team that built the largest-enrolled MBA program in Nebraska.

After Bellevue, she spent seven years at the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University before heading to Webster University.

She spent another seven-plus years at Webster, where she helped business leaders in the Kansas City metro increase employee engagement by strengthening their internal pool of candidates with skills-based education.

During this time, she missed the feeling of ownership of living and breathing a brand that speaks to your core, something uniquely you, and allows your imprint that doesn’t have to conform to the voice of anyone but yourself. With this in mind, Cass created her blog, The Luxestyles. The Luxestyles allowed Cass to build a community around her to share with, laugh, learn from, and grow on her journey.

Currently, Cass is a Coaching Operations Leader at Positive Intelligence, an app-guided program to rewire the brain for peak performance and happiness. The program is often called life-changing by its participants.

Its vision is to create a world where mental fitness becomes as widespread and commonly practiced as physical fitness is today.

In 2020, Cass authored her first book, “The Weight of the Wait,” which chronicles the different challenges you may face during your faith walk with God and how what it means to not lean on your understanding.

Cass guest lectures in marketing, strategic communication, and mindset and has been a featured panelist at marketing conferences. She is an alum of the Central Exchange Emerging Leaders program.

Cass is the board chair for Youth Ambassadors, Inc., dedicated to empowering underserved youth with socio-emotional life skills while preparing them for the workforce. She also sits on the board of Beloved Community Outreach.

Cass’s dedication to helping others and the community and working to improve the world are just a few reasons I look forward to continuing to watch her journey unfold.
