Caroline VanDeusen

Caroline VanDeusen is an incredibly successful leader in our city and has dedicated her career to building start-up companies.

A native Nebraskan and a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she got her start in finance at The Principal Financial Group world before having a successful run in the tech world, including roles with NIC Inc (Overland Park) and Harrison Computer Corp (Toronto) before landing at PayIt.

During her time at PayIt, she helped build the original go-to-market strategy, sales operations, and deal sourcing and eventually led overall business development for the firm.

In 2021 she joined KCRise Fund as a Principal, where she identified investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, helped support portfolio companies, found talent, and consulted on go-to-market strategies.

Recently, Caroline just joined ModRN Health as their VP of Strategic Partnerships.

ModRN Health is a healthcare and technology company powered by nurses and doctors nationwide. They deliver healthcare to employer groups onsite and virtually 24/7– providing a personalized member experience, health plan navigation, and advocacy beyond a hospital/clinic. Each patient is assigned a dedicated nurse and doctor to guide them through their healthcare journey. Typically, 88% of eligible employees use ModRN Health services when offered through their employer.

In her role, she develops strategic partnerships with health insurance consultants, employers, vendors, other healthcare providers, and all the moving parts of the industry.

It is great to see Caroline’s passion for improving and personalizing the healthcare experience to drive care affordability. I am a massive fan of ModRN Health and its mission, so I know Caroline will bring so much value to growing this excellent organization.

Caroline is a Centurions Leadership Program Graduate and sits on the Alumni Board for Centurions; she has been a guest lecturer for the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a Techstars KC mentor, and is very involved in the startup ecosystem of KC.

I am excited to watch what Caroline can accomplish in her new role and continue to watch her impact here in Kansas City.
